1. you are not the owner of city lets according to companies house. Please prove it if you are. We all will be very surprised.
2. of course, from your point of view city lets have no responsibility for city living and you think that this is the way Mr. Marcus can escape from his responsibility. And you are wrong here - he is the same person who is director in both companies and he new about city living problems and he set up city lets. This is continuation of his criminal proceeding and every solicitor will tell you the same.

CIty Living Hackney (City Lets Finchley) are fraudsters! I have a close friend who I personally watched as she battled as a victim of this terrible fraud. Do not trust these people!
ReplyDeleteAfter researching, we have found over a dozen people who have also been scammed. This fraud incidently IS certainly a CRIMINAL act.
This is how it worked: My friend found a place that she was interested in renting. This City Living Hackney (I guess now called City Lets Finchley) took her deposit but then did not provide her with the lease. They gave excuses and reasons for the delay etc, but then when this poor girl finally gave up and asked for her deposit back they refused to give it to her. They gave her such a run around of excuses trying to use complicated UK rules (which do not exist) and resorting to threats expecting her to give up. These people try to prey on the weaker consumer (foreign, older, poorer) and try to exploit them.
And now, this man has the audacity to come on this blog and THREATEN this poor man who has been scammed and is simply trying to warn others? HOW VERY DARE YOU SIR. I cannot imagine that he is even able to look himself in the mirror.
Once again, stear clear of these terrible people.

Martin came to me with tenants saying he had done all the relavent checks. I have some major questions now about these people who are now in my property. I have just realised from going through the blog,you are saying we are taking peoples money and then not providing them with a flat or house. So the scam you are suggesting is fraud of course. ReplyDeleteA message to the private landlord who is concerned about certain checks. I am a landlord also who engaged in a contract with City Living Hackney. The Assured Shorhold Tenancy Agreement that City Living drew up for me stated that "the deposit will be held by City Living under the www.mydeposits.co.uk scheme. It has come to the end of my tenant's contract and my tenant has contacted www.mydeposits.co.uk and the deposit is certainly NOT in that scheme. This makes City Living Hackney in breach of contract. The legale situation regarding my tenant's deposit sates that I, as the landlord, are fully liable for this deposit because I did not check and get a certificate from www.mydeposits.co.uk as proof that City Living Hackney entered the deposit into the scheme. The law also states that I am now liable for 3 times that amount should my tenant decide to take me to court.
ReplyDeleteI would advise that you check with City Lets Hackney about your tenant's deposit situation. If your contract states that the money will be held under the mydeposits.co.uk scheme, then check that the deposit is indeed in that scheme. You can do a search for your tenants name and address via their website. If it's not in there, and obviously only IF the City Lets AST contract states that it is, then there is a chance that City Lets will be in breach of contract and you may be able to sue them to that effect. If nothing else, if you find that the deposit is not in a deposit scheme at all, then you, as a landlord are breaking the law (after 10 days of the commencement of tenancy areeement), and you are liable for 3 times that amount from your tenant under UK law. It is not illegal, immmoral or bad practice for you to call City Lets and ask them these questions. And also any other questions regarding checks etc... Any other reasonable busines will be more than happy to give you all the information you need rgarding their contract with you/your tenant. For the record, I am not MK, but I feel extremely sorry for this poor man and I wish him luck in all his legal matters and also want to make people aware that they should check everything through meticulously to ensure City Lets Finchley are doing everything they say they ae doing.

City Lets Finchley dont even have their own premises, they rent a serviced office for flumpence a week in a building of offices, (have been scammed before out of that building,) they can just disappear just as quickly as they steal rent and deposits

If what Mr Kash is saying is true then city lets have nothing to worry about as official records at companies house should show who offically is the owner. Also it allow them to see how many people have actually been scamed (if any).

ReplyDeleteI have emailed myfap@findaproperty.com to ask them to investigate City Lets Finchley to ensure they are a proper and legal company and advised them that it would not look good for FindAProperty.com if they are found to be working with estate agents involved in unfair and improper activity. I am awaiting a response from them. I would advise anyone reading this BLOG who has been affected by bad practice from City Living Hackney and/or City Lets Finchley to email myfap@findaproperty.com to ask them to investigate. The more people do it the better and if FindAProperty finds that there is untoward behaviour happening on the part of City Lets, then they can remove City Lets from their system. The which check you issued me for 2000£ has no founds, hardly a surprise fo me considering your unprofesionalism and lack of respect.
I am going to sue you for this money, plus all the inconveniences you have cause us, not to talk about the fraudulent contract which you signed, so we will see in the court.

I believe that this has been going on for long enough and I have tried to be as considerate as posible.
Now, either you give me my money back tomorrow 20th or I will sue your company for it, if that is the way that you want it.

ReplyDeleteThis man will not give you your money back! Check with wrong name, No funds in the account these are all his tactics not to pay!
Go to his office and demand the money because there are a number of people trying to get there money back via solicitors/courts and all he will do is shut down the company and set up a new one. He still owes alot of money and will try every tactic no to pay.
This man is a con artist and unless you go and confront him directly will always give you the run around.
I hope you do get your money back and if you do please tell us how you did it.
This man just took a family friend's money last week. He did not hand over the key. When she asked for her money back, he gave her £1000 in cash and £2500 in cheque.

ReplyDeleteThis has brought up so many unpleasant memories of 2 years ago when we were scammed by City Living. The threatening tone, and their sheer stupidity. How do they make this work and how are they not behind bars yet. It won't be long until everything is taken off him and he pays his price, I'm sure.
