I will tell you a real story here. My intention is very clear - save your time and not to deal with thieves.
Be aware of City Living Hackney Thieves! They call themselves estate agency - in fact they are liars and cheat people. This is my story:
They had fake offer, signed fake contract with me on behalf of landlord where they didn't have any contract with landlord. I send to them £1700 as deposit + first rent and they don't want to give it back after i discovered their scam.

Same here, signed contract, gave them £3110 and same day recieved a phone call from the main agency (was a sub-let)Grand International (UK) Limited, Kitty, saying that CityLets, Martin Marcus, had no right to deal with the house, so to go and collect my money back. This was easier to say than to do..

ReplyDeletejust to let you know we were nearly sucked in.We were going to sign up with him as we needed to rent our house and find something else. He brought round two chinese girls, although the details and paperwork were in a mans name. We were warned by a friend who wasnt as lucky and scammed them !!!We checked the paperwork and nothing was correct. We called the relevant companies that had given recommendations, approval and references and none of them had heard of either the prospective tenant or Martin Marcus of his company. He tried to draw us in with 'sweeteners' saying he would do the inventory for nothing etc. then said he needed to have an answer by 12 the next day as his clients were pressurising him. We then just said we werent interested and he then sent us an email that said, 'your loss'. Well it would have been !!!! Lucky Escape !!!!
ReplyDeleteI have just had a horrible experience with this man. I think he was intending to con the landlord, but he backed out of the deal, leaving me with £450 deposit to get back. I had to nag for it, but guess what - he gave me £300 in cash, assaulted me physically - got his workmate to threaten me physically too, tried to grab the money back, threatened me again, tried to physically throw me out of his office, and caused a big bruise on my arm. The other £150? A cheque, which I am sure will bounce. I have filed a complaint with police and will go to the press and Watchdog. He tried to say that these blogs were done by one man...I gave him the deposit before I knew about his antics. Dangerous, horrible, horrible man.
ReplyDeleteMartin Marcus resides right now in EDGWAREBURY LANE, EDGWARE MIDDLESEX. HA8. Still running away from his debts and the law. Tell the police as he needs to be put away for a long stretch!
